Oh bummer…
I guess I was more or less just excited about new products. Are they canceling new products too? I hope not.
I’d love to see Pearl kick up the Export and Decade line. Maybe add a few lugs to the floor toms and throw some Super Hoops on them. It’s crazy to me how frowned upon the Vision series was back in the day (2007?), but looking back, they were so well made compared to the Decades that basically took their place. The new Exports and Decades are on par with older Forum series drums imho.
I’m always excited to see the new snares they have to offer.
I’d love to see some more big crashes from Zildjian, 21” and 22” are great…
Tama has already been launching some stuff...
Star Reserve Stave Ash
"This 14"x6.5" Stave Ash shell is the newest edition to the STAR Reserve series. Characterized by its brightness and sensitivity, Ash wood has a wide tonal range. Similar to a conga drum, 16 pieces of 10mm thick Ash wood staves are used to form this unique shell, delivering a quicker response and deeper tone than that of a ply or solid shell drum."
Club Jam Pancake kit
"The Club-JAM Pancake kit combines the benefits of a compact & easily portable drum kit with professional quality sound and durability.
This is achieved through the lightweight and minimalist design of the Club-JAM series. As the lightest and smallest option in the Club-JAM series, this Club-JAM Pancake kit offers a professional quality sound in any situation.
The 3.5" deep tom and floor tom, paired with a 4" deep snare drum and bass drum can be easily packed in just a single bag thanks to the ultrashallow shell. The single-headed toms produce a crisp and warm sound with a strong attack. The double-headed snare drum produces a bright and sharp sound, along with significant low-end from the double-headed bass drum."
I can also say I've had a little preview of the new Natal stuff, I'm staying tight lipped but there's some great gear on the way from them!
More drums than you can shake a stick at...
