Somebody bought a "masters" decal on EBay and affixed it to a low ball drum shell.

Definitely a rewrap. Pearl doesn’t place the seam by the badge. Pearl’s seam is under the lug, left of the vent.

Um, gee- that wasn’t the response I was expecting.

This snare actually belonged to Pearl’s Garryn Rollins. It’s a 6-ply MCX shell rewrapped and outfitted with upgraded hardware which I am currently having powdercoated to match my kit.

    Thanks for watching.

Very nice, JY! So it's a matching maple snare to go with your birch kit (I assume from your sig pic)?

I almost did a similar thing a few months back but it was the same wood as my kit (birch). I had seen a Masters Studio 12x9 tom shell pop up on my eBay and Reverb feeds and it looked to be the same finish as mine (#407 Red Glass) but I wasn't sure if it may've just been a random red sparkle. Since I already have a 12x9, I was contemplating buying it and getting it cut down into a 12x6.5 snare, but I never pulled the trigger on it since it would've been a 6-rod snare and I wasn't sure how I was going to like it and someone else ended up snatching it.

Been kicking myself since though because I found this old thread a few weeks ago from a member that did the exact thing and his looks great.

You're right. It's Bronze glass. The photo doesn't do it justice. Under the stage lights it's really cool.

I had a #406 Bronze Glass MCX a few years back. 13x9, 18x24 and 16x16. Added a 14x14 shortly after. Gorgeous kit under lights indeed.
