Haha, I thought it may be and oh I'm sure the photos don't do them justice indeed! Coming from a #407 Red Glass owner.

So, after WAY too long of a time at the powdercoater’s, I finally got my parts back. Guy did a great job but could not treat the throw off mechanism and he said he attempted to take it apart and could not. It apparently has a bearing casing in it. I tried to take it apart and felt that it wasn’t meant to be disassembled. So that part remains chrome. I’m gonna sand and paint it (wish me luck!).

I will say that the SR-1000 is one of the most over-engineered things I’ve ever seen. I knew when I was taking it apart that I was In trouble. I actually did get most of it back together… MOST of it. Lol
I also have to find a way that doesn’t require 9 pieces of hardware from cymbal stands of other drum companies (Flache!) to pop the air vent back in.

    Here she is somewhat reassembled.

That looks killer, dude! This has an SR-1000 strainer? The butt is the only adjustable part off the SR-1000… how does this work out for you?

One side has a knob to adjust the tension of the snares and the other side is the throw-off. Moving parts on both sides. Tiny rectangular plastic pieces, almost microscopic pieces of felt, springs, etc.

Right, I have one on my Ultracast I’ve been trying to sell. It looked like you had a regular butt plate in the picture since it doesn't stick out so far. One of the things I don’t really love about the SR-1000 is that they seem to protrude out from the shell much further than any other throw-off (made by Pearl).

All done (well, except for the vent thingy). Think she fits in well.
