Same! One of my favorite kits ever was a Yamaha Anniversary kit in a very similar sparkle finish.

Thanks! The Tamo version is of course a classic, but it also works quite well as a sparkle.

I Googled the finish you mentioned, and I think you mean the Yamaha 30th Anniversary Maple Custom. It's indeed similar but the Scuba finish has some blue at the edges.

A couple of finishes with some stripes/inlays. I'm not a fan of these type of finishes, but from a design point-of-view it does open up a whole lot of possibilities.

    Would Pearl even do these?

Why not? They've done similar finishes in the past, like this one or this one for example. The principle's the same, just need careful taping of certain areas on the drum during painting.
The different wood inlays has also been done in the past, just like the centre placement of the badge.

Personally I think the Carnelian bubinga w/ rally stripes would be nicer with a lighter wood, maple for example, for greater contrast with the red.

I know what you mean and it's a valid point, but the red-natural stripes finish with a lighter wood has been done before. Like this kit or this kit. That's why I went with the Bubinga.

Instead of the usual fades/bursts to black, I thought it would be fun to use white instead:

(Note: I don't think the Eucalyptus one is possible like this)

I came across these trying to search for other finish ideas; perhaps they can serve as inspiration for you. I know the orange-to-red fade has been done by pretty much everyone. The blue and green fades really stood out to me.

I provided our factory with a picture of a hot rod car finish, and they matched it on a Masterworks kit.
