Those originally started life as a 8x10" keller maple shell that I cut in half, added hardware and stained....they were going to hold two Pearl Tru-Trac heads....but I ended up bagging that plan because I hated the feel of the pads....so I rounded off the bearing edges, and tune them to two different pitches, and bam - make-shift timbales....and they sound really good....![]()

My cymbals but not my kit, just a practice kit at my parents' church, but pretty much how I'd set up mine if I could.
It's an unusual ride position for me, but actually really comfortable and lets me get the fat stack exactly where its comfortable.
