    Default Sabian refreshing service results

Always heard about Sabian offering a refresh/refurb service on their cymbals but never really had seen any results of people doing it. Took a chance on my 22 HH Powerbell Ride that I bought from melvinspeed and had them apply a brilliant finish and redo the logos. Took about a month and some change but for only $40, it turned out great! Gonna take it to my practice space today or Sunday and give it some playtime to see how it changed the sound. I was considering selling it which is why I had the refresh service done, but depending on how it sounds I may just keep it around!

I like the old HH script a lot better.

I do love the script logo. I was under the impression that I’d be getting the small HH logo that sits at the top which has been my favorite so far but honestly it sounds great and that’s all that really matters.

That turned out really nice. I had three of my cymbals refreshed by SABIAN a few years ago and they looked pretty good. However, after they were finished, my RBDR had a different timbre. I should have expected this since they are buffing the tonal grooves to "refresh" it.

Is it possible they sent you back a different ride than what you sent them? Or was there something unique about the cymbal that made you sure it was original? I'm wondering if they would replace a cymbal if they felt something was wrong with it, or if they damaged it during refurbishing? I've had almost 40 cymbals resurfaced, some more than once. I never recall one sounding dramatically different than before the work was done.

I always love seeing these before and after pictures. Any pics of the cymbal's underside from before?
