    Default Trimmed the Fat

So now that my bandmates and all their equipment are in my studio (plus a free reclining couch!), space is at a premium and despite my love of big double kick kits, I simply had to reduce the footprint of it. From a musical standpoint, a kit of such large size and spread made no sense.

I also feel that the type of kit one plays on tends to dictate HOW and WHAT one plays. I found myself playing along to mainly hard rock/metal tunes when i actually prefer playing straight up groove-oriented rock. So here she is after her gastric bypass surgery...

You're not a drummer if you haven't relayed a song idea to bandmates via onomatopoeia

The kicks came with the 4” extended hoops. I have the originals but I’d have to take all the lugs off and change out the inserts because the thread patterns are different.

And no, Pearl made black optimounts for a while.

Yeah, think I’m gonna do that. Just waiting for it to not be 272 degrees in the room first.

And thanks for reminding me that they’re my drums, Matt.
