Their history wasn't that brief if you consider they made yamaha high end drums for 40 years, plus the years they built under the sakae name. If the quality isn't there with the new owners and they are built in some nameless factory in china, you can be sure the name will get run through the mud. It's a shame those craftsmen are not building drums anymore.

When do you get your new Sakae kit, and are you really going to set it up with cymbals, and play? Serious question.

I didn't mean that as a dig or insult. From past pics, I don't remember seeing cymbals, sticks, a throne. I was hoping to see a complete set-up... something that is played and given a good evaluation.

Do you know the history of when the original Yamaha guy was involved to their dead time to now?

    Why would you ask this?

I thought it was obvious, but CUZNRED has a history of buying kits, talking them up, promising pics, and never following through with full set-up pics. At most, we eventually see 4, 5, or 6 drums set up like you'd see in an advertisement for a shell pack. I'd like to see the kit actually set up and played, you know, with cymbals, sticks, and a throne, so we can get a real report on how the drums play and sound.

Why would it take so long? I just got an e-mail from DCoP saying they are open (online) and shipping.

Just made my 2nd payment today, I could cut my losses and get myself a Pearl Session Studio Select with what I have paid so far, or I can make my final payment in a couple weeks to take the Sakae kit home. Should I go through with the Sakae? Or save some cash and take the Pearl kit home this weekend and save myself 800 bucks
