    It's a beautiful looking kit. I have a gorgeous Sakae Beech snare; it's a well-made drum.

Just DCofP. If there was a problem, I bet they'd do their best to remedy the situation.

Today is April 1, so I'm taking everything and anything I see on the internet with a grain of salt (or maybe an entire shaker). If true, hope you enjoy them.

I think KorgUSA has bought the rights to Sakae, so he should be safe customer service wise.

Shane stands by his merchandise, they purchased all the left over new old stock from the Sakae warehouse. I got a crazy sick deal on these, $2299.00 for 10/12/14/16/22 they sold for around 3500/3600

I see they have some nice deals on the old sonor prolite (formerly delite or vintage maple sq2) kits too. Those Sakae shells are killer, I just hate the badges and mounting hw orientation. Minor complaint for a stellar sounding drum.

The badges don't bother me that much and the mounting system is very functional, it also works with my yamaha stands which is a huge bonus. The fact that those shells sound amazing is just icing on the cake for me.

see them compared to the new Recording Customs here.

Minor quibbles that would never prohibit me from owning them. The sound is all that matters and they sound great.

DCoP is finally liquidating Sakae drums. Some great prices. I am interested in the stave cypress snare, but the shell is too thick for my taste. I like how they used mortise joints to connect all the staves... ala Brady, and some other builders.

Wow, those look terrific—timeless finish. They made such great drums during their brief history. From what I understand, Sakae wasn’t able to stay afloat because of an extremely competitive industry. While a resurrection may be in the offing, I fear that unless those craftsmen formerly associated with Yamaha Japan are involved with the refresh, the new generation of Sakae will lose what made them special.
