Interesting. I have had a couple of pairs of the Tommy Aldridge Oak 2S and compared the Promark Hickory 2S they felt lighter and softer (less dense).

I don’t have experience with the other two but have been eyeing a few pairs to try out: Vater 3S (huge stick), Vater MV8 Extended Play, and Vic Firth Ralph Hardimon Hammer.

Does anyone have experience with these?

Hopefully will try them out soon.

That's interesting as oak is typically a much denser wood than hickory...

I've often found that hickory sticks will chip away until they are unusable, where oak sticks just break...

I'm not a fan of super heavy sticks, but from what I've seen Promark seem to make the best heavy sticks...

from a pure playability stand point,i think 2S's is the heavier weight you can live with behind a drumset.
