As he penned..."We are only immortal, for a limited time" Peace and blessings to his wife Carrie and their daughter Olivia.

The music world and literary world lost a great one. Rest In the Spirit of the radio and kiss your wife and daughter in heaven.

My brother called and told me. Asked if I'd been on Facebook? Told me it was posted so I automatically figured it wasn't true. Rush has released an official statement. Sad for sure. I remember seeing the 2112 inside the album and his handle bar mustache. I was about 12 ( 1982 ) I was heavy into 2112. A true part of my childhood. Rest in peace, dear buddy. From a stranger or a long awaited friend!

    You just made me cry.

As sad as this is, we are ALL better for having known this mans work- his music, his lyrics, his writing, his drumming, his very outlook on life. The only thing makes this ok is that his was a life WELL-LIVED. A life of excellence. Canít ask for much more than that.

    We lost a good one.

I applaud Neil and his family for holding this close to them and not making a spectacle out of his condition.
He was an influence for all of us I feel safe saying

I was in the middle of a conference call when I got the alert across my watch. My words just trailed off...

RIP Neil, birthday buddies, Professor. I think I can speak for all of us drummers when I say you inspired and awed us.
