I’m on the fence about Portnoy’s comments. He was asked a direct question, but he could have declined the interview request. When people outside the band are saying more than the band and his family, it does appear tactless.

Getting back to the point in hand, the most heartfelt accounts I read were those of Kevin J Anderson, Neil’s co-author for the clockwork angels book series, Matt Scanell, of vertical horizon who Neil was a friend of and worked with for many years, and Doane Perry, from Jethro Tull. You can’t read much better than that.
Pearl, Natal, Ludwig, Tama, Slingerland, Premier Drums
    Zildjian, Sabian, Zyn Cymbals
PEARL, LUDWIG, TAMA, YAMAHA, NATAL and DW Snares

Roland, Dauz, FAT KAT and Koby Electronics, and loads of Percussion

4 Kits and 8 Snares, and I still don't have enough!

Out of respect for the man and the work he did to touch SO many lives, I'm rejecting any semblance of negativity in this thread.

Neil Peart changed my life for the better- as a drummer, as a writer and as a person. I'm achingly sad that he's gone but am heartened that he existed and left all of us with a body of work that cannot be matched.

That's all I have to say about that.

You’ve completely disrespected the family’s wishes and made this tragedy about you. Good job, a*****e.

Looks like that Godsmack douche is more of a douche than I thought if that was possible.

The Sabian booth at NAMM had a nice Tribute to Neil.

I couldn't have said it better than Dylan. I miss him, his passing was/is hard to process, like a death of a close family member. He touched so many!

Very nice tribute. And fitting. When I saw it I thought about the law enforcement tribute, but also the fact Neil would polish off the logos on his cymbals.

It is a LE thing. And Neil loved his steampunk paragon logos, that’s for sure. Great tribute by the boys at Sabian.
