Agree, other than how he sets it up. I would be lost back there.

I have a BDC snare drum on order, and am anxious to see the final product. It will be the first of it's kind in the US that I am aware of.

I like his Sonor kits the best. But like his new BDC kit, I also lean toward more restrained finishes.

You never see a ride cymbal angled like that these days.

I think what he meant was there aren't any NEW artists that are doing that with the ride. DC and Carter have been in the game a while, since before it was "unheard of" to have a steeply-angled ride cymbal. Although I will say Mike Johnston's ride is angled quite a bit, but not quite to that degree.

    Hello Fellow Drummers,
Your feedback would be sincerely and greatly appreciated. I originally posted this in the "vintage wood fiberglass" thread but hardly anyone has visited it and I only got one reply. Please forgive me for posting it here but this is the only very active thread I could find with very recent replies. I recently purchased a Vintage Pearl Wood Fiberglass CHROME 5-piece drum kit for $500 and am seeking your opinions as to whether this was a good purchase (or not) and why.
Thank you so very much. Thomas Name: VPDS.jpg

Do you like the way it sounds, and do you enjoy playing it? It looks to be in very good shape, so if the answer to the previous 2 questions is Yes, then you did OK. I probably wouldn't have offered more than $300 (maybe $350 tops) for just a shell pack of that age. Just remember, just because it is "vintage," and perhaps somewhat rare, that doesn't always mean that it is valuable. If you bought it to try and flip it for a profit, you might be disappointed. But, again, if you like the way it sounds and feels, then just enjoy it for what it is.
