Does anyone out there know what the standard lead time is for an order for the above 2 drum kits?

Looks like I am sol....... I refuse to buy a wrapped kit and 4-6 months on a non custom (stock) kit is too long a lead time for me. I can swallow 4-6 months on a completely custom masterworks that is built from the ground up. Why doesn't pearl do what yamaha usa does, and stock the most popular sizes and configurations in the US for reference pure/reference and Masters mct/mrv? Your leadtimes take you out of the competition
CUZNRED,
I put in a new MW order every 6 months. Sometimes they arrive in 2-3 months, and sometimes it takes 4-6 months. The time goes by fast once you get used to it. If you want it quicker, I'd wait until after the holidays when all of the production for NAMM has been completed.
The best time to special order is in the first 6 months of the year. I put in two different special orders last spring that both arrived in less than 3 months. One was MW and the other was MCT.

Have you considered purchasing used? It’s how I bought my Ref’s.
Compared to Yamaha, a Reference kit is a custom order. No knock on Yamaha, they are great drums. Pearl Reference/Reference Pure has so many more options that it's prohibitive to stock anything but a few basic colors in chrome hardware.
Edit- I haven't been on here much lately. What kit are you playing these days?
Not knowing the norms for EVERY brand, I don't know that I would say 4-6 month wait takes Pearl out of the competition. Tama gave me a similar window with my Starclassics (120-150 days, I believe). The holidays were right in the middle of that time frame so it took every bit of those 150 days and a couple more, but to me if you want them bad enough, go for it. Pearl saying 4-6 months doesn't mean you won't necessarily get them faster.
You’ve been on this forum long enough to know how it works. The Reference/Reference Pure are made just as the Masterworks kits are. 2 of the 3 Masterworks kits I built were built in Reference specs.
I CURRENTLY have a Ref Kit being made. I ordered in September. I was given a 3-5 month lead time. I’m almost 3 months in. I’m excited. You really don’t mind the wait once the order is put in. Builds excitement and a day to look forward to when they show up at your house.![]()
