    Default “Where’s the Second Kick?”

So after playing on my 2 kick set up for a while, I decided to shake it up a bit and go to what I think of as my “Carter Beauford” set up. I played something like this when I first started out (except I had a flat ride on my left, natch) and find it very comfortable. I know that the left crash looks high but I had to clear the Rocket Toms and honestly, it’s totally reachable. I might tweak things a bit but I’m digging the hell out of this.

    That setup still looks cool.

White kick reso looks classy with silver drums. New setup looks like fun!

Beautiful set up Dylan, well thought out. I love the rocket toms! And at the risk of sacrilege, I like the kit with just the single bass drum (que the gasps of horror).

    Cheers

With dbl pedals, I see no use for 2 kicks.

    Thanks buddy.

Perhaps I’m weird but I find that when I sit behind a kit with 2 kicks, all I want to play is metal. And I LOVE metal but I’m not all that into playing it. I’ve found that what kit I sit behind tends to influence what I play. This kit allows me to play just about everything.

Strange, I've been the same way for a few years now.

Kit looks great and I'm glad to hear your experimentation has yielded something comfortable and inspiring.

Switched the splashes around added a side snare.
