I second this. Case in point, a now retired co-worker that I know, bought his ‘dream’ kit a few years ago. A six piece Pearl Masterworks in Purple Craze Finish. One of the drums had an issue with the lacquer peeling/cracking. Pearl stepped up to the plate and remade the drum. No hassle, no fuss, no charges of any kind. I would alot the same to DW or any company (Ludwig, Tama, Yamaha, Tex). If DW balk or give You the run around, then turf the kit, and go masterworks
or star. I like Tama, but the Reps for the company up here in Western Canada are extremely difficult to deal with and arrogant, so they’re out of the running for my next kit.

It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.

Clear G2's are great. Coated... not so much. I prefer coated G12's.
Anyway, as for the possible issue with the 12" rack tom, bring that drum back to the place you bought it and see if they notice anything. They are your point of contact. They can get in touch with DW and get the drum fixed if there is something wrong with it. Easy peasy.
Cuznred, did You get around to checking if it was indeed a bearing edge issue? Did you trade it back in?
