Evans Hybrid snare head

I've seen a few people on this forum who are using this head on their snares, and I would love to hear their opinions on it, specifically relating to whether or not they experienced a decrease in sensitivity of their drums, or if there was a noticeable decrease, or even increase, in volume of their drum.

Also, has anyone on here ever used this specific head on a bell bronze snare? If you have, how did it sound compared to whatever head you were previously using?

I am using one on my 20 ply Masterworks Snare. Think it's a great head & works well. I find it sensitive & has great projection. It will stay on for a long time I think

This is a quality head, I've been using mine for well over a year and its still got loads of life left in it. Personally i do find that it has a little more projection than other heads I've used on my snare (Mapex Walnut/Birch) compared to other heads.

My favorite snare head since about 2009 has been the Evans EC2 Reverse Dot frost finish. Nothing sounds better on a 20ply snare, steel snare or brass snare. They last as well.

I have the Evans Hybrid on my Pearl Tico Torres signature snare. It's a fair bit heavier than normal heads, so it needs to be tightened a bit more to get similar tension/sensitivity. That being said, it's a very lively head. When combined with the cast aluminium free-floating snare, it has become something of a cannon. The main drawback I've found is that its extra weight reduces the dynamic range, though I doubt anyone is trying to play lounge jazz gigs with such a head.

I'm also a fan of this head on my snare drums. When I'm not trying to blast through a block wall with sonic power alone.

I used this on my Acrolite and it sounded killer! Haven't gotten around to trying it on my other snares but will do. I tend to go for Evans ST dry or Remo reverse dot CS, but this EC2 has a lot going for it...
