Thank you. I'm just saying...I enjoy other drummers but don't aspire to be them.

Why mimic and imitate your favorite drummer when at the end of the day you're still you.

Like Jonah Hex, I suck at drums. Always have always will. I am technically the must untechnical drummer there is. Total slop rock but people seem to enjoy it.


I mean it's not like I said I'm the worlds greatest anything. I'm just my favorite. The drummer I spend most of my time with is me.

This I agree with. I think any artist should say, “I really like X Player, but I would rather it be said as X + Y with my own little Z added.”

I don’t think it’s ego if you put yourself in a realistic position. I’m no way Vinnie Colaiuta, but I’m going to be the best Me I can be. There’s no need to be a watered-down clone of anyone as that has already been said. If someone comes up to me and says I sound like a particular drummer, I’m doing something wrong.

I have a lot of favorites, but if I have to pick one, it's Mitch Mitchell.

Manic Depression is one of the greatest grooves ever. For years I’ve been trying to figure out how to make it my own, but it still always sounds like Mitch.

Would have to be Simon Phillips for me, long admired his playing and style, and his touch on the kit. And he killed it last night at Ronnie Scott's, he and the band were utterly incredible, and he definitely still has it. Such a nice guy too, really happy to chat and meet the audience after the gig, a night to remember for sure.

With a hi-hat, crash, and ride 20ft in the air and a China just just above the floor tom. Now add a 10” x 6” as the rack, a kick that practically hangs over the drum riser, all with a cartoon finish and you have the entire generation of ‘00 drummers.

I am indeed, he put on one hell of a show for sure. Going to see Gadd again next week he's definitely in the top few for me aswell, and i'm catching the Blischer, Hemmer, Gadd trio show in Southampton which will be great i'm sure.
