I feel like the 2nd floor tom is the beginning of being slightly out of reach as well. I play it, but it is less comfortable than the floor tom closer to the kick. This is why I made a conscious effort to place my gong drum in between the two floors, as opposed to in some sort of "third position". TS must be really flexible, because he plays his gong drum, to his back right, seemingly effortlessly. If I put mine there, it would rarely be struck.

Putting my gong drum between the two floor toms started a domino effect that I've come to appreciate. I had been wanting to move my ride up, more in front of me, for quite some time. With the gong drum there, I had no choice but to move the ride. I love having the ride up front more.

Well, Matt. I cut down the two splash booms and the other vertical
    Bars as well.

As far as two floor toms go, I’ll say a 14 and 16 make it a little easier than a 16 and 18. However, Todd Sucherman has a 14, 16, 18 AND a 20” gong drum. He maneuvers quite easily on them.

That a very nice set you have there. I was wondering about the dual bass drums. I notice that they sit flat on the floor and doesn’t have a slight upwards tilt to them. Mine’s have a tilt ( Did I set up my bass Drum wrong? Helpppppp
