I did see that one listed it had some pretty rough scratches on the brass. I want one that has been well cared for. Thanks for the heads up

Okay then... what do you consider a fair price then? Because if you're looking at the same price point but in new condition...

For a excellent condition Reference Brass i'd say like $750-800 range

I would contact this seller on eBay, and see if they can get you the 6.5x14 for a good price.

I reached out to the dealer you recommended. They weren't too willing to make a sale with me. I tried best to reason they wouldn't budge much.. So $1,247.00 is what they were asking an $999.00 is as low as they'd go.

I would rather look on used markets saving myself some money to buy a nice wood snare with after getting the Brass cause I don't own any wood snares.

That's 20% off of new. That's a good deal for what you're looking for. You want new condition for less than used price. Are you going to PLAY this drum or just look at it?

A new one at $999 is a really good deal. Good luck on the used market. Looks like there have been a few on eBay over the last several months close to your budget, but it's totally hit or miss.

Why don’t you save the rest of the money needed and get a new one ? I personally can’t justify spending that much on a snare drum. Try a Brass FF or a Phosphor Bronze like have. They are incredible sounding drums for around $600 new. I also just bought a Maple Red wine shell to switch off once and awhile . It cost a total of $800.00.
