Cool. That gold logo will look so sharp on a black kick head. Nice Tom holders too.

Thanks! Yeah, many drummers seem to use a gong nowadays. I’ve wanted one for ten years and finally I’m getting one

Do they make a black suede or black fiber head that could be used as a front kick drum head?

The 14”x14” has arrived! My cat decided to do some quality control Still waiting for the gong bass... hope it arrives soon!

Last week my friend recorded an album using my Sessions and God, they sounded good! I mean, the best drum sound we’ve ever managed to get in a studio. I don’t know if it’s the heads or tuning or whatever but it totally blew us all away!

Anyway, I’ve also been thinking about ordering an another kit once I get my garage built up. Masters MCT or Session Studio Classic... if only I had the money for a Masterworks, haha!

    Masters MCT
    22”x16” or 24”x16” kick
    10”x8” tom
    13”x9” tom
    16”x14” floor tom
    20”x14” gong

    Session Studio Classic
    22”x16” or 24”x15” kick
    10”x7” tom
    12”x8” tom
    13”x9” tom
    16”x14” floor tom
    20”x14” gong

It’s a tough choice... It’s amazing how affordable and amazing sounding these kits are.

Had a KellyShu lying around so decided to experiment with that. Looking great!

Looks nice. On the Shu, I would move the upper pair of bungees up to the next pair of lug screws (or even the top, if you have enough bungee). Because I think a heavy mic will make that assembly wobble a lot with that current set up. Also use higher mounting holes in the Shu. Even better, leave everything where it is, and add another pair of bungees.

    MW, love the kit!
I haven't had a lot of opportunity to play mine yet either but I expect that to change in the coming year.

I tried this setup with a mic and it was actually ok. I’m still gonna experiment with other ways too, I want to get the mic away from the center of the drum towards the shell. I’ve never worked with a gong before so there’s some learning to be done. Thanks for your input!

I also forgot that this is a gong drum, and not a kick drum... so there will be much less force and pressure going through that shell. Everything looks nice; I'm glad you're happy with your new drums!
