Default My new set of Meinl Classic Dark Customs

Just recently purchased 8 Meinl classic dark custom cymbals. They are 16in hi-hat, 18in crash, 20in crash, 22in ride, 18in China, 16in trash stack, 18in trash crash, and a 12in splash

This is 4 of 8... Ive set up the 16in hi-hat, 18in crash, 20in crash, and 22in ride... I know where my splash is going, but its the 18in China; 16in trash stack, and the 18in trash crash thats got me worried. I have plenty of cymbal stands but normally I like my cymbals low. But I dont want to have the cymbals hitting each other either.

Almost makes me want to set up my 7 piece Gretsch Catalina set as to have more space. Having 2 floor toms allows for more cymbals on my right side. Only down side to this DW KIT is the color "midnight blue satin" is a limited edition color. So if I wanted an 18x16 floor tom (circumference, depth) id have to get it in flat black.

But I will say these "trash crashes" make for an awesome sound and the 16in stacked trash sounds amazing as well. Very dark and perfect for my type of music.

Just return the DW if you're so worried and get the black ones so you can expand easier. And nothing wrong with the cymbals bumping into each other. And don't feel like you have to use all the cymbals just because you have them.

Problem is I cant return it due to the "deal" I got on it... But I totally understand your point of view. I can keep both kits, its not a matter of money. But I would like to set up the 16in trash stack cymbals... Can I use a boom arm cymbal stand? Or should I get another hi-hat stand? Or a remote hi-hat stand.

Ive also thought about wrapping the kit in a two ton leather thus allowing me to get the 18in floor tom in matte black and just wrapping it as well. Ive wrapped about 20 something kits now (ever since I posted pictures of me removing the wraps and then showing the finished product). So I'm confident in my ability to rewrap the kit but since its a limited edition color I dont want to ruin that either. Besides the piccolo toms and 20in gong drum are all wrapped in black. Which I do plan on getting both, so why not have a black 18in floor tom? Luckily I'm not OCD so the mix matching of colors wouldnt bother me. But I do thank you for responding and for the ideas. Cheers!

Did you check with DW, to see if they would make you a floor tom to match your kit? I can't believe they would decline such an offer.
