I actually prefer GNR's Hair of the Dog over the original....love the original, but Sorum's drumming on GNR's cover is beastly....

Triumps live renditions of Rocky Mountain Way also top out the original for me....but then I'm a huge Triumph fan, so....

Metallica - Turn the Page (I'm sure there will be those who disagree)
    Disturbed - Land of Confusion
    Rammstein - Stripped
    H.I.M. - Wicked Game

Others that I like have already been mentioned. These are not necessarily just covers that I think were better than the original, but covers that I enjoy in general.

Magical Mystery Tour by Cheap Trick. Bun E.'s drums really stand out to me on that cover.

    I don’t think I would agree it’s better. It’s a good version though.

I'm actually that way with almost every other Metallica song....never been a fan (walked out of one of their shows back when they were an opening act for Ozzy)...there's less than a handful of their stuff I like well enough to listen to, most of those are covers....

Metallica is ok I guess, I just really hate that one song so much.
