    Default Must See Drum T.V.

Thought this could be a cool thread. I comment many time the music related television I watch.

Not so much instructional videos but more drum and music related viewing.

    On Netflix now:

Saturday Night Live Alum. & star of Portlandia Fred Armisen new comedy special

Fred Armesin Stand Up for Drummers

As the title says it's all comedy for drummers.

There is a ride ping in there that I laughed out loud about for around a minute straight.

Please feel free to add anything drum/music related you are watching.

So its not new but currently available on Netflix is 2014 documentary on James Brown called Mr. Dynamite: The Rise of James Brown

Lots of great performance footage and interviews with the performers in his various bands. I didn't expect a lot, but I found it fascinating. Highly recommended.

Interesting interview with Nicko from 2018 NAMM. I wish the interviewer's questions were more audible, but I enjoyed it.

That was pretty cool. And I hate when you can't hear the questions!

I stumbled onto this channel this weekend. Good interviews -- quality and questions. A variety of drummers -- I watched Marco Minneman, Simon Phillips and Mike Portnoy.

    https://www.youtube.com/user/indiscipline/featured

    Random learnings:
Marco Minneman thinks double bass pedals are over-engineered.

Mike Portnoy says enjoying what you play and who you play with is more important than success or technique.

Simon Phillips says to get better at drums, surround yourself with better musicians.

BONUS FACT: Simon Phillips once auditioned for AC/DC. (I assume the Thunderstruck/Chris Slade era?)

Watching How the Beatles Changed the World on Netflix.

Interviews and rare archival footage illuminate how the Beatles' influence over music and culture continues to be felt around the world.

    Running time : 1h49m
