JY, can you post a link to the LSO covering angel of death please?. I’ve tried to find it, but can’t. Thanks.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like that version. The drastic changes in tempo are just painfully jarring.

No sugarfoot. It's an ok cover but better than the original?
    No chance.

I will concede that it is not better than the original. I just like the AAF version, and I like the energy of the cover.

I don't know if it's better than the original, but it's damned fun! That, and I can't listen to MJ songs anymore without just cringing as it is. Like, yeah, this song his catchy as hell! Wonder if he wrote it right after molesting a kid? Allegedly.

    Spirits in the Night

I can't say either one is better.

Bruce Springsteen's version is so gritty and heart felt. The lyrical phrasing takes you to Greasy Lake along with the rest of the invited gang.

Manfred Mann's Earth Band turns it in to a completely different song. You still go on the trip but this time it's in a space ship.

Blinded by the Light. I'm torn. Though I like the Springsteen version, I love M.Mann's take on it.

They're just completely different approaches to the songs. Both bands are great.

Also the song For You. If it weren't for Springsteen's writing I don't know how popular Manfred Mann's Earth Band would've been.
