If you'd like to remove the press-fit grommets (air vents) there's a good video on YouTube made by the PDF's Matt Flacche. They are pretty easy to remove and just as easy to re-install.

Most companies did not install the t-handle tension rods near the pedal so they wouldn't interfere with the pedal and the ground. Some companies went so far as to not put them on the reso head either so you wouldn't have to lift the kick to turn them.
    Thanks Tasty!

Yes, that is how they came.

Great job cleaning that beauty up. You can't go wrong the clear G2's on the batter and clear G1's on the reso for those shells. For the kick, I love the Gmad! Thunderous! : )

So I have about 20 hours into the cleaning, polishing, tuning, and setting these bad boys up. Finally got to play them for a few minutes tonight, and I am really digging the tone. They have a little more punch than the Stage Customs, and the bass sounds huge. I still need to get the snare dialed in. I am looking for a sound close to Interstate Love Song snare sound by STP, not there yet. Overall very happy with the kit!

Thanks TM. So I am anal retentive and the badges were bothering me, so I spent an hour redoing the toms to fix the badge placement.

I have played at least an hour and a half on the kit and these shells sing! The snare CRACKS, but still not exactly where I want it to be. Overall very impressed with this kit.

Fantastic job once again! I would not let that kit go. Again, they are hard to find and they are some of Pearl's best shells ever IMO.

Thanks Jutt I think they are here for good. My oldest son (also a drummer) said he is jealous that this is my kit, I asked him who he thought was going to get them when I die, lol.

Please hang onto this kit. Those aged shells are something special.
