Default Pearl 50th anniversary snare value

    Hi all,

I have an unplayed,as new, 50th anniversary snare that I'm thinking about selling. It has the cert and bag but the key is gone. Any idea as to value? See attached. Thanks so much.

That's a beauty. I always wanted one, but I doubt I'd give you anywhere near it's value

In the UK you'd maybe get £400-450 on a good day.

^ That would be a good day. The only one sold on eBay UK, recent enough to show in the sold listings history, went for £385. I'd love one, but I'd only probably put up £250 for one, which is why I said to the OP I couldn't give him it's value

Yeah I agree, it's not the sorta snare that will sell quickly. Its not necessarily what its worth, its what someone would be willing to pay. As much as I'd love one, i'd also not justify any more than £250 if it was me buying it. I just paid that for 2 Yamaha snares and a groove wedge all in. (Prepare to hate me, it was a Steve Gadd birch with maple hoops, and a 14x4" copper nouveaux)

I just saw a copper nouveau on Reverb (I think); is that where you bought it?

I was wrong... it was eBay... this must be similar to what you bought.

Nope, it came free with the Gadd snare and groove wedge. Pics to follow once it arrives (due to a postal **** up that saw me getting the Gadd snare delivered, along with an old 90's Tama superstar snare, which I hadn't ordered, and missing the groove wedge and copper drum). So in effect, I got 2 Yamaha snares and a standard groove wedge, for HALF the price of just the Gadd on its own.

Not saying what you did is wrong, but this is why the drum industry is dying, regardless of what Matt thinks.
