Default New space for my DWs!

For a couple of years now, my DW's have been in storage at my church because we did not have enough room at our house to set them up. I periodically grabbed them for the occasional gig . Fast forward to this past February, my wife and I bought a new home complete with a full basement. This is going to be transformed into a studio over time. Since things have finally settled with the move and things are sorted, I FINALLY got the chance to break out the kit and started working on the setup. I'm still trying to decide where to tuck the 18" floor tom but for now, it feels pretty comfortable to the left of my hats. I'm also still getting used to booming my cymbal stands again lol. Those of you that know me know that I always like my setups to be symmetrical and generally my stands are straight. I'm sure this will change over time just like everything other drum set I've owned. Don't mind the red heads or the stained carpet. I've got a fresh set of UV1s that I'll be throwing on over the next couple of days and the carpet will be thoroughly cleaned and eventually replaced.

    Now, onto the important stuff...PICS!

Nice set up JC... those heads look like they come with batteries or an AC adapter... they glow! For the future, if there is any way you could get the kit off the floor, even a few inches, it would really help in the event of an unforeseen water event. We had a pipe burst in my old basement, that was otherwise dry. The sump pump stopped the water from rising above an inch, but my Roland kit would've been in an inch of water if it were still set up there.

Well I'm sure you're gonna enjoy the space. Very "symmetrical" awesome looking kit.

I have a design for an inexpensive, low riser for drums if you need one, JC.

I, too, am loving the set up. Your basement room seems very... institutional. Reminds me of the basement rooms in my grade schools.

Should I inform the drum shop that you are on your way?

Congratulations on the new house. Nice to have a place to play. Nice of them to paint all the blocks for you. Makes a good background colour for pics.
