Default They say never meet your heroes...

But I ignored them and went and met one of mine.

Mike Portnoy was in town playing with the Neal Morse Band, so since it wasn't far I nipped over, stood in the cold for a couple hours chatting to some other fans, and managed to grab a photo and a few words with him. He signed a drum head for me too. Really nice guy, pleased to finally meet him.

The only one I have is meeting comedian, drummer and co-founder of British Drum Co. Al Murray, at the London Drum Show 2 years back. Meeting those you admire is always a privilege, many of which I now count as friends, but I always enjoy the moment too much to remember to take a photo.

I think many here know who Barry Kerch is If not for his playing, then for a die hard fan of his who made an impression here when Barry switched over to dDrum. Is he still playing dDrum?

I've posted this a bunch here over the years but when in Rome...

Met John Tempesta when Helmet played the legendary Maxwells a few blocks from my house in '06. Super nice guy and let me check out his sig snare (that hadn't been released yet). One of my drumming heroes.

I'm the dork on the left.

Got the head Mike signed for me on the wall this afternoon.

Although, while waiting I did think twice about forgetting the head signature, and trying to make off with one of these instead
