Absolutely gorgious finish, they sound great too and I like how they are actually tuned to a certain note than just tuned equal. pretty cool they sound great enjoy them.

Thanks again! And as far as tuning to notes Iíve been nerding out on that concept for years now. Finally learned what notes work on bass drums for me. Thinking about doing some updated tuning videos since the last one I did Gaines some traction.

I used to be a huge yamaha fan boy, but I just can't get into the new yamaha. I miss the sakae kits with the vast array of sizes and finishes and absolute lugs.

Part of the reason I purchased this kit was that it's the highest in Yamaha's range with the absolute lugs. They're just so classy and way less finicky than the hook lugs.

Agreed, I had the hybrid maple kit and could not stand the hook lugs.

Great kit!! Congrats and enjoy! Yamaha really has something with these kits. I know there was a strong initial reaction to these drums when they first came out because the Oak Customs and Live Customs were so popular. There is some understandable frustration when drummers love a series and it is discontinued. It seems like this is the ultimate version of these kits for the oak enthusiasts, from the finishes to the enhanced low end of the bass drums.

Thanks! For me it’s like the final iteration of a car before they completely switch it over to something different for the new model year. I’m SO glad I purchased these and they’ll likely be my go-to kit for some years to come!

Yamaha's are too nice for me. I don't deserve that level of luxury.
