    Default Gold plated hoops

Howdy folks, I was wondering if there was anyone on the board that successfully removed the gold plating from a superhoop? I have a tom coming that has gold plated rims and lugs, and the rest of my kit is chrome so the gold gotta go. I have chrome lugs on hand, but no rims. Maybe I'll sell the gold rims and lugs and buy 2 chrome ones. Just thought I'd toss it out there and see what comes of it. Cheers.

The gold plating has to be “chemically” removed. Somewhat expensive and you would still have to re-plate the hoops in chrome which would just add to the cost. You’re better off selling the hardware to fund the new chrome goodies.

Yep. The Super Hoops are inexpensive. It's not worth the trouble of trying to remove the gold plating.
