Yes, he has a lot of snares. Perhaps he has an agreement with Stanbridge and thus Pearl has to wait.

Pearl RFS1465/G 14x6.5 Reference Steel Snare Drum with Gold Hardware

Reference Steel snare drums were released in 2006. I special ordered this one in late 2010 with gold hardware. The price book specifically says "CHROME HARDWARE ONLY" for the metal Reference series drums, so I was surprised that the request was approved when I ordered it. I have since tried to order a Reference Brass snare with gold hardware and been denied. I believe this is likely a one-of-a-kind drum, at least as produced by Pearl. From what I understand, the drum came from Taiwan with standard chrome hardware and everything had to be changed over in Nashville to fulfill the special order. The box even has "/G" handwritten in at the end of the part number. Obviously, I could buy the hardware and change it over myself, but that goes against the self-imposed "rules" of my collection.

The shell is 3mm steel with Mastercast hoops, BRL65 Reference lugs, and the SR1000 Glide-Lock throw-off.

Very nice snare. I've never been a fan of gold hardware myself, but I like it on this drum.

At least you have a nice set of the gold hardware if you ever want to put it on on different drum. I'm not sure it would stand out much with a natural brass shell.

I like those "Limited Edition" oval badges. They look nicer than the round ones they had a few years ago.

Agreed. For those who want to compare this badge to the one MM is talking about......

This drum was the October 2008 snare club drum. It has a 6-ply (7.5mm) maple shell with Superhoops, split spiked tube lugs, and an SR017 throw-off. This is the only drum that Pearl has produced that I am aware of with the split spiked tube lugs.

Are Superhoops also known as S Hoops?

Superhoops are Pearl 2.3mm triple-flanged hoops.

S-Hoops are a different product. I have heard of them but don't have any personal experience. Here is some info from Big Bang who distributes S-Hoops: https://bigbangdist.com/shoop.htm
