I meant, do you have any real shots the photographer took, and dolled up? Those pics look like cell phone shots.

No, marketing still has them, probably saving for Sweetwater.

Are the rocket tom hoops low-profile like Tama's or more like regular hoops?

Last I knew of it, Pearl did NOT offer "bongo" style octoban hoops, however, the rims on the 6" Superhoops don't sit so high as to impede performance.

Thinking for down the road. Might be something I look into as the octoban hoops are the only major part of hardware on my drums that aren't black nickel. If they're even available separately and at a reasonable price.

You could get the octoban hoops black nickel plated. It would cost more than buying 4 Pearl black nickel Superhoops, but it would be special. The chrome plater I use in Philly has a minimum charge of $150, but he cuts me some slack when I have small projects. The last job I had done was 8 tube lugs for $75. He said he'd do as many as 20 tube lugs for $85... reasonable.

If you find a local place that plates, choose a place that wants to see a sample of your black nickel hardware. There are so many different shades, and they can control how dark/light the plating is. If they tell you black nickel is black nickel, I'd stay away.
