Sorry, but I don’t know how you can include “goofy” and “iconic” in the same sentence when describing a drum kit.

Only owned two kits. My first kit was a 5 pc. set of Exports. The only reason there would have been any regret for letting them go is purely sentimental, but realistically there was no reason for me to have two kits. Very happy with my Starclassics.

    I have.....and I don’t understand what’s “goofy” about it. Please explain.

It it both. To be fair, I actually prefer the grey kit, because even though the white and black is a more iconic colour combo, the sizes of the grey kit made it look a bit less goofy. To me, anyway

To me it's the somewhat drastic tom size changes. The grey kit was 12, 13, 14 ,15 toms, and the white one was 10, 12, 14, 16. Not a massive difference granted, but visually the grey toms "flowed" better - the white ones had more pronounce "steps" - if that makes sense

Those of you with a 16” floor Tom look at it. Seriously, look at it and the diameter of the drum head. Now imagine that drum on the right side of a double tom holder on your bass drum facing you.

My old ealry 90’s hodgepodge kit had a 14” by 13” deep rack tom in that fourth position and it seemed massive to me.

I think you are asking a bit much wanting 3 kits from anyone. Many drummers don’t even have 3 kits in their lifetime. I had one kit get away, but i was able to get it back.

Danny Carey uses an 8 10 14 16 Tom setup. So you’re saying this too is too “drastic”??
