    Default Musical Frequencies

I have the iDrumtune Pro App.
I am currently playing 2 mounted toms and a floor.
The mounted are 10 and 12 and the floor is 14.
I have the 10 inch tuned to c3# and the 12 inch is tuned to A2.

However, the 14 inch floor tom comes in a d3# which is a higher pitcher than either of the mounted toms.. As a matter of fact it is almost an octave over the 10 inch. But it has a nice booming sound to it.

How is it possible that the floor comes in higher than the 10 inch

I don't know about the app but ...

    10 @ C# in C3 = normal
    12 @ A in C2 = normal
    14 @ D# in C3 is not normal .. you're hearing wrong octave or app is utter sh#t ... 14 should be @ D# in C2

Maybe the app is reading the pitch of the overtones, rather than the fundamental... or maybe it's "reading" the D#3 as an octave or two higher than it actually is because of the overtones. I've never heard of that app, and I don't know how it works. If the floor tom is a lower pitch in real life, it sounds like the app's algorithm is being deceived.

How are the tensions of both batter and reso head compared to the others? You might have the 14" Reso crank up tight, as both heads affect the fundamental.

Or the app is sensing some overtone.

Why do you feel that the 14 FT should be D# in C2?
I am trying to tune major 3rds apart so the floor should be tuned to F in C2.

Sometimes the App registers 160 and other times it registers around 80 so I am going to go with the 80 since the 14FT is definately a lower pitch than the 10...

I don't feel anything. I was going by what you posted. 14 in C3 isn't normal when your 10 and 12 are in C2 ... I was merely pointing out that your 14 should be in C2 range
