those are gorgeous shells, just wish we could see more of them.
It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.

Yeah - I love the finish ....it's stupidly elegent.

After playing for over an hour tonight (first real workout on the kit in a while) I started looking at the front mounting to see if I can figure out how to make it cleaner.....the issues I face are two fold:

    1) I have a lot of stuff up front....if you just count the front of the rack I have three toms, aux hats, a Yamaha 8" 3 zone pad, three crashes, a 10" splash with the main hats, 8" splash kinda of in the mix but left of the toms....so it's *busy*.

    2) Wiring. Everywhere. That is easy to solve with longer cables and creative routing though.

Since it's studio kit it's not a huge deal for me to not see the shells all the time, besides - I'm behind it, I see them plenty But again, I was looking at the mounting on the front and thinking of ways to adjust some to make the toms more visible.

Might you be able to route the wiring through the square rack bars? Like, tap a, say 1" diameter hole toward the outside of the bar and slide everything through? Perhaps it not possible (my imagination with this kind of stuff is admittedly limited) but it seems like it might work.

I've toyed with that idea several times....and it certainly is doable....but if I got a wild hair and decided to reconfigure the rack, redesign, change my setup, then it suddenly gets problematic - not terrible so.

Honestly the reason the wiring is what it is is pure laziness on my part....I could dress it differently, route it a lot cleaner, etc, but again, I was being lazy.

I'll have to tear it all down here in the next few months regardless, I'm going to frame out, insulate, dry wall the shop late spring, early summer, so everything in there has to be put away for the duration of that effort (hopefully will only take a couple weekends). Once I get that done and and get to the point of setting back up again, I'll put some effort into making it "neater".

Always want to tinker but playing > tinkering 99% of the time.....If I see something I want to change/adjust I'll jot it down in one of my notebooks and then when I feel like it mess with it after I play for a while....

... and by the time I’m done playing, I’m a winded, tired, sweaty mess and have NO desire to “tinker”. Lol

Any luck flipping your kit for something else? I know you had mentioned that recently...
