Anybody see the new Yamaha Live Custom Hybrid?

Honestly they look nice but I'm kind of disappointed. I was hoping they would listen and get rid of the dark silver hardware, go back to thinner shells, and revert to more of what the Oak Custom was. Not only that but apparently there's a resin or something serving as the center ply if I read that correctly, so you're paying about $500 more or so for a slightly modified Live Custom. I have yet to see how it sounds, but it's only got like 3-4 finishes from what I can tell, and they're all dark yet again. Not overwhelmed.

Now Pearl's Maple/Gum Masters kits are kind of a shock, but a very welcomed one. It took me a while to come around (because I like the old Glory Days of the OG Masters line), but I'm really impressed with where Pearl is going with the Masters line now. These look awesome, and I'm sure they sound even better. Honestly so far, Pearl has kind of won NAMM for me. The Tama Birch/Walnut looks and sounds nice to me, but it's been getting mixed reviews, especially on the finishes. Honestly it seems like a very reactionary move from an otherwise super innovative company. Not only that, but they're more expensive than the B/B's were, and now there's nothing to really fill that gap in the price range. Tama needs to do something big in 2020, otherwise they might be off the radar for a bit.

Looks like a completely practical gigging setup to me.

This might be the most glorious overkill setup for a splash I have ever seen.

I count 5 separate pieces of hardware to hold a cymbal that weighs... 3oz?

You shut your mouth. Pearl does nothing wrong.

Now... May I interest you in a drum rack / 3-ton jack stand?

The hardware slut that I am loves this. The efficiency economist in me hates it!
