On a side note, the Cymbolt that came with it is very cool! I'll be ordering some of their low-profile, non-locking holders to create some other stacks with.
hey, i totally forgot to ask, whats the prices on those ?

I agree. These remind me more of the Sabian Choppers.

Zildjian was obviously going for something they could sell much cheaper than a quality stacked cymbal pair.

They're all over eBay now but I got mine from Rupp's in two days. They start at $99 and go up about $10-$20. Not bad for two cymbals and a low-profile Cymbolt.

Cheaper but not lacking in quality. I bought about 6 cast splashes and the two smaller Trashformers just to put together a decent stack. The best combo I came up with is the K Special dry splash over a 10" Trashformer. If you want something without a weird buzz, high-pitched ring, or long decay these hit the nail on the head.

Just for reference, the cymbals I bought for stack experimenting were:

    6" Zil-bel
    8" K splash
    8" China trash
    8" Trashformer
    9" K Hybrid Splash
    10" A splash
    10" K Special dry
    10" Trashformer
    10" Spiral Stacker

The 10" Spiral landed on top of the 21" K Special Dry Trash and hasn't moved since. It's my favorite crash stack.
The 8" Trashformer is my go to splash cymbal above my hats. It sounds awesome by itself.

Oh, were you planning to experiment with the new FX stack cymbals along with others? If so, I think you will come up with some cool combinations. I think two similar-shaped cymbals simply stacked on top of each other, produces a very simple, bland sound. Now if you start mixing in transformers and mini chinas, that's a whole different story

That's interesting... they had a few 24" prototypes floating around for the past year or so. I've only heard that the 22" (which is what you have pictured there) is going to be available.

I'm actually really happy with how it sounds as a hat stack. When I paired it with other cymbals, which are all much thinner, I'd get a weird buzz or sort of "boing" sound. I think they are made from the same alloy as the L80 practice cymbals. They are quite thick and make a "CHa" or "Kah" sound. You really have to hear and play them in person so you can mess around with them. Also, the color of the bottom, or solid cymbal is a really cool silver color that doesn't actually photograph well.

The Trashformers work well too! But I love the 8" Trashformer by itself. I'm thinking about picking another one up soon since they are so inexpensive...

It's been years since I looked at prices for those Sabian Max Stax cymbals sets. Yikes. The low pitch are in the $430 for a brand new pair on most sellers on ebay. That kind of price for something that doesn't have a nice glorious shimmer like an 18" thin crash or 21" ride with a lot of sustain just doesn't gel with me.

No. Like a lot of small businesses, it turns into a hobby.
