Default Pearl Masters Birch Complete ????

Are there any plans for Pearl to introduce such a kit to take the place of the BCX ? Knowing how well Pearl does Birch, I bet a Birch kit using the same shell specs as the MCT would be a killer set of drums.

There is no question they would be great! I've had the pleasure of playing Sonorlite's (6 mm birch toms straight sided) and of course my thin shelled MBX kit. Thin birch shells do sound great and would certainly be a nice addition for those that want a lighter kit to haul around with superb sonic qualities! The question is, will it sound too much like the MCT kit? Same dilemma Pearl had with the MBX and MMX back in the 90's. We shall see : )

Or maybe just resurrect the BCX and MCX altogether? I kinda like the die cast hoops on this series. Moving to a triple flange on the MCT looked like a cost-saving measure; not a bad one, but cost saving nevertheless.

I prefer the super hoops, the die cast choke the drums too much.

It'd be hard to pick between the Session Select and a "Masters Birch Complete"...IF they were to be reality at NAMM 2019

Well the good thing about being in the Masters family is that you get a big size assortment. I prefer suspended floor toms for one thing

This is why I would think if Pearl was to do an upper end Birch kit, it would probably be in the Music city custom ballpark (but with Birch shells) to keep it away from the highly Successful Session series.

Drum manufacturers gotta be tearing their collective hair out trying to keep up with the various trends. We drummers are certainly a fickle lot.

Die Cast: I love 'em. You don't.

Suspended Floor toms: You love 'em. I don't.

Birch vs. Maple: You're a birch guy. I'm maple.
