    Default My Pearl Masters BCX

This is my only kit right now, since I sold my Saturn IV a few weeks ago. Really liking the Pearls, nice and punchy sound, perfect for rock and heavy metal. Specs:

Pearl Masters BCX in Piano Black
    2x 22x18" bassdrums, 10x8", 12x9", 13x10", 14x14", 16x16".
14x6" Tama Starphonic Bronze snare, and a 13x5" Mapex Black Panther Design Lab, Cherry Bomb.
Paiste (Rude and 2002) and Meinl (Byzance, M-Series, SC Custom and Classics Custom) cymbals.
Tama Speed Cobra pedals and hh, also have Pearl Elim. Redlines.
Gibraltar Rack, assortment of Pearl and Tama cymbal holders.
Evans EC2 clear on toms, Remo Ambassador on reso side, Evans Emad Heavyweight on the bassdrums, Evans ST Dry/Hazy 300 on the snare. Triggers: Roland KT10 and a Roland TM-2 module.

I have bought all black finished hoops for the bassdrum, as well as chrome Optimounts. Just looks way better to me.
Unfortunately the bassdrum heads have the Mapex logo on them for now, I used them with my Mapex kit before. Will try to get the stickers off and put Pearl logos on instead, if it will be a bad result I might get some new custom heads with my band logo (Mecalimb). The only plan I might have for this kit in the future is adding a 18x16" floortom, if I can find one, and maybe switch some of my Meinl cymbals with Paistes. But neither are a big need at the moment, so I am quite satisfied as it is

(The cymbals in the first picture are not mine, I took that picture after the first band who was opening for us had their soundcheck, with his own cymbals. So that`s why you might see some difference from the rest of the pictures)

A couple more here, with the standard white Masters bassdrumheads. Sorry for the messy practice room...

Thanks! I sold the Mapex kit since I only really need one kit at the moment, both my bands use the same practice area, and I really didn't need two doublebass kits, one just taking up space at home in bags. And why I choosed to sell the Mapex specifically, was that I got a great offer on that kit, (before I put up an ad for it) and I also slightly prefer the hardware on the Pearl, mounting system etc. Soundwise it's hard to say which kit sounds better, I like both.

Thanks a lot! A recent picture here, from our recording session last night, trying to get a new song finished before we go on a tour with Six Feet Under in December

There's something timeless and classic about black shells and chrome hardware.

Agreed! Definately better with chrome hardware. getting that nice contrast to the black finish. Black kits are a bit harder to keep clean though. I did consider the lava bubinga finish as well, but thought it might be a little bit too "much" in a doublebass setup. Piano Black usually does the trick in a metal band anyway

Cool! We are really looking forward to share stage with them, as well as Incite and a few other bands I have not heard of. Mostly gonna play in Germany, with a few gigs in the Netherlands and Czech Republic as well.
