Default Epro and Zildjian Gen16 Set-up with Mimic Pro

Hello everyone, this is my first post in here. I just wanted to ask if my current set-up will work with the Mimic Pro. I have a Pearl E-pro with a Zildjian Gen 16 cymbals and currently working with a Red Box module. I am planning to buy a Mimic Pro but heard that it is not a plug and play like the Red Box.
My issue is the Gen16 cymbals. The cymbals connect to a DCP (Digital Cymbal Processor) and not sure if it will simply connect to the Mimic Pro without any problem.
    Thanks.

The Audio from the Gen16 sound module just needs to be sent to the Mimic Pro Aux input.

They cannot be used as midi trigger cymbals because the were not designed for that purpose.

    Hope this help!

    Dear Peal Mimic Pro Team,

please also see this other thread: https://www.pearldrummersforum.com/s...-Routing-issue

I also own the Gen16 symbal system and totally agree, that what you're describiing here is the absolute logical and preferred solution for combining the Gen16 with the Mimic Pro. Unfortunately this sitll simply does not work, because it is not possible to route the aux in to any arbitrary out channels of the Mimic.

Any idea when this option will be delivered as an OS update?

    Thanks and kind regards,
    Andreas

    Hi,

You are correct that the Aux input only routes to outputs 1&2 and the headphones.

I will mention this to the developers to see if it is a possibility to add this feature.

    Hi Bob,

thanks for looking into this and talking to the developers.

What did they say? I guess this should be easily possible from technical side.

Are there any plans to release this as an firmware update, and when could this be expected from customer side?

There have only been two Mimic Pro OS updates in 2017 and in 2018, which is a quite low frequency for a product in this price category.

I'm also curious about when the SD card usage will be enabled, since this is way more robust compared to an USB stick at the back of the module.

    Thanks and kind regards,
    Andreas

There is only one other module in this price range and it has had the same amount of updates in a longer period.....

There is been 6-7 updates, since first release of MIMIC July 17, older firmware have been removed from the site. As far as update, no others module add new feature and read request from users. Roland never did, only fix issue and are gone.
