Default Cymbal height with Gibraltar Stealth side mount system

Any one using the Gibraltar stealth system...wondering what you use to get cymbals the height you want as the legs on these stealth thingys is quite short. I guess you can either use a 6709NL no leg cymbal stand (but these don't seem to be available in the UK) or place a cross bar above the stealth legs.

What are you using and how high are your pies?

When I was looking at a stealth rack, I was planning on just removing the legs from my existing cymbal stands. Not exactly ideal for most folk, I know.

I was thinking may be to use my existing stands minus the legs section - so middle and upper parts. Yamaha do something similar at reasonable price the CH755 which would give around 1 metre of rise max.

If you wanted them, most UK dealers should be able to order in a NL cymbal stand. I can't see that being an issue.

I just use regular cymbal holders for the most part. This one's a real mish-mash:
Gibraltar Cymbal holder for the ride
Pearl CH930 for the crash in middle
Pearl straight stand top for the crash in the back..

Here's a different angle of generally the same set-up so you can see how high my cymbals are.

On this one, I think I'm using CH1030's for the ride and the first crash. Same Pearl straight stand top in the back.

Thanks for the photos, a great help. I am now thinking (a) to use my existing top cymbal stands (b) Making use of some tripods/base sections e.g. two tripods and running a rack bar between them, so a hybrid setup although probably going with the stealth VMS kit for snare and front leg, then a tripod left of the hi-hat.

    Nothing but options right?

Just got me the pair of stealth racks off Fleabay - the side and vertical mounting sets GSSMS and GSVMS - for a pretty good price. Will then look to get a curved rack tube to go across the left (hi hat) side so I can mount the 6", 8" and 10" splash cymbals near the hi hat area and all the other cymbals and 8" tom can hang off the racks too. Also found some clamps going for a good price: one set has a road and super multi clamp with two memory locks, and another set with 4 super multi clamps, so should have plenty to play around with.

Will try and post photos of "before" and "after".
