definitive (for now) incarnation of my '''perfect'' cymb set up. a birds eye view never hurt.

found 2 AAX with the pretty much opposite notes of the HHX's,so it kind of articulate the cymbs 's parts sharply .

if i wasn't that savvy i would swapp the controlled sound for another one (then ditching my long time powerstroke X in memory lane) .......for now lol. i like the way it filters the sound, but i much prefer the ''touch''' of the PX. it kind of let you digging in instead of bouncing over .however,il like the amount of ring exiting that dry snare with the CS. as for my toms, well, after decades of double plies, those black suedes amby are clearing the voice of the «BB's shell. they act a little like 2plies sonically, but leaves a clearer tone while providing the right rate of attack, focus and lows ; on top of it they provides more rebound and a more ''direct'' lively touch .kind of the black coating darkens the sound considerably compared to the white version of the coating.

waiting for a set of a double SC 's 910 with DW beaters,i'm wondering how i will set em confortably with the already tight set up around the snare stand foot. gonna be tight. don't want my RHH pedal location messed up too much. i might start to look at legless snare stands. it's tempting.

Good practice session with The Supertonics Big Band last night with the Natal Arcadia birch kit, added a Mapex BD riser which works really well...pedal has a much better feel with the beater extended the usual amount.

Drum heads are Code DNA coated, except bass drum which is an Evans 56 Calftone EQ4 with no muffling. With the soft padded beater it gives a decent low "boom" sound suitable for this type of music.

Cymbals are my "old" set bought mainly in the 80s or early 90s, from right to left:
    - Zildjian 21" medium ride (with a couple of gel pads as requested by the adjacent bass player)
    - Zildjian 17" paper thin crash
    - Zildjian A Custom 10" splash
    - Zildjian 16" medium crash
    - Zildjian 14" New Beat hi hats

Stool is a 1980s Premier Trilok, but its a smidge low with very coarse adjustability. The cymbal and hi-hat stands are Pearl.
