Al, I remember watching local bands in night clubs in the early 80's and they always seemed to have large Pearl kits with big "cannon size" toms! Loved those kits!

Wow that's beautiful.... and you dont even have your cymbals set up yet... at 1st I thought you had a single double beater pedal. Then I realized your showing us your master piece and didnt connect the other pedal. I'd love to hear it once you've finished tuning it. Are you changing the heads or keeping the ones that came with it? Those heads remind me of Remo's single pinstripe head. Awesome investment... you shouldnt have any regrets as this kit is amazing. Besides you could go Terry Bozio and just get a second set of rack toms to go above the ones you have lol. You still have options ya know? Adding on isnt always a bad thing.

Hi and thanks for the comments, she is a beauty! Will refit the toms with clear emps and clear ambs for the reso side. I liked this kit so much I have 3 of them now. Just picked up a matte black last weekend. The black will be for gigs and I will be adding hanging floor toms to it. The natural stays at home and my gold sparkle kit will be a practice space/ alt gig kit.

    Cuznred,

Keep in mind, you can easily replace the bass drum hoops on the MCT Matte Black kit with Pearl 1.5" Competitor Matte Black marching bass drum hoops. They are 6-ply maple, matte black finish, and match beautifully. They look better because they are finished all the way around.

I'm using the 14" hoops for my MCT "Martini" bass drum in the Matte Black finish. Just waiting for the Pearl logo head for the front of the bass drum and it will be ready to go.
