I might not do anything and keep the Hybrid Kit, I love how some people on here get all nerved up over stuff like this. Isn't the idea of a forum to be a place where you can post ideas and have dialogue?

I understand the search for that perfect sound . I have bought & sold my share of kits . IMO the search will never end. I like DS ‘s take on this . I notice you already have an oak Yammi why get another? I happy with what I have.

You are right on that one, over the years I have let go of some kits that I wish I could have back. I am probably gonna keep the hybrid kit and save for another oak, the reason I want 2 oak kits is because I want to leave one at my church and use the other for gigs with a classic rock band. The hybrid maples sound good, especially the kick drum but I prefer the oak toms wayyyyy more, a lot more attack and they have a fantastic near field tone, the oak kick drum is also very punchy and focused. I should have quit while I was ahead a few years back when I had 2 recording customs and 2 oak customs (sakae built)

it's your kits/money so you do what what you want .. I'm not getting nerved up .. we've all given opinions before when you post these threads and you do what you already had implanted in your mind and that's trade in one kit for another kit .. it's a cycle .. do what you want and don't ask what we think .. you have 2 hybrid kits, 2 stage customs, so you might as well get another live oak to complete 2 kits of each series

Those lugs have the best sonic properties though. The BEST. They're tuned to a specific note, dontcha know.

Just make sure they have white washers on the tension rods...the color of those washers totally affect the sonic properties!
