3 photos from 2 very different gigs. Jazz trio in a wine bar, piano, double bass and drums (Natal kit and the usual selection of cymbals)

And a gig with a party band, house Tama silver star kit, with my Natal Ash snare, my heavier cymbal selections and the obligatory ACS Custom Pro20 earplugs.

Played a small gig in Oslo a few weeks back. Pearl kit with my own cymbals and pedals, even the chair! It was warm and the sound was trrrible on stage so I kept my eyes closed to focus I guess. We played quite good though!

Sitting in Tuesday night at a local blues jam. In fact, that's the name of the venue, The Local. House kit.

Ron, Glad to see you having fun and you didn’t have to schlep your drums.

Looks like you were having a great time! Who were you playing with that night?

It's good to not be the schlepper. I even had to use Matt's sticks.

That particular jam is overflowing with players most weeks, especially drummers. So many great ones here and others arriving every week. A lot of times the drum slots are filled before Cara Being Blue's opening set is over and I usually get there later on. I got there early for me that night. There were slots open that quickly got filled. I also like the newer guys to have a chance to play. I kept being told the 5th round was open.

Fate Melton is the the one who ultimately drafted me to play the round with him.

Kyle Bors-koefoed fronted and blew harp.

    Elija Apperson

    Glenn Jones

Kiran Gupta who also plays guitar and trumpet played keys on our round.

Shaun Murphy literally stepped off the plane from the Bob Seger Tour while they take a break. She sang a few rounds earlier. Killed it as usual!

Tom del Rossi plays for Shaun. He also has a show band gig and other stuff. Great drummer!

Matt Doctor plays for the host band Cara Being Blue. Cara Lippman was not there because she is in Europe promoting her new CD Grit. I'm a big fan of Matt's feels, fills, and total approach.

Daniel Cox moved here in the last year. I hate when guys like him show up. Scary good! Good guy too.

My cohort in crime Donnie Miller was there. I was host drummer for Donnie's jam for almost 3 years. We're doing a gig next Friday. Boyd LaFan (pronounced LaFon) on bass and Mikki Gutierrez on sax, both insane talent!

There are about 85 photos in all from Tuesday at Sherri Johnson Photography on FB.

The room was chocked full of great players. The jam takes a week off next week while Cara is still away but returns in April. There's a songwriter's night next Tuesday. Jim Peterik who wrote and sang Vehicle for the Ides of March will be there. I plan to go. I haven't talked to him in over 45 years. Should be fun. He co-wrote Eye of the Tiger by Survivor and wrote a bunch with The Outlaws.

    You asked.

Default 18 years of rocking with HotRod!

OK you asked for it! Here's a few over the years from 2000-2018 spanning my years with the band I just retired from "Hotrod". It was a classic rock band that played a lot of Beatles, Beach Boys, 60s and 70s rock, pop and Motown. As you can see, I'm a singing drummer with a BIG mouth! Name: full_george.jpg

Awesome T shirt! Big Ringo fan here. In this pic it looks 3D like he's actually attached to your chest. LOL

Agreed. Already a year since I posted this one. I really clutter the PDF with so many frequent escapades! Go ahead, say it, I'm and abuser and the PDF is my enabler.
