Lately I have been fortunate to find myself playing with gifted players beyond what I was blessed with. Saturday night was another one of those nights. Check out the solos by Kevin McKendree on keys and Donnie Bell on guitar after Scott's sax solo which was also a fine piece of playing:

I've been on a bit of a Rocky Horror kick lately. And looking through some old pics I came across this one from a rehearsal for an amateur production of it I played in 15 years ago. My back hurts just from seeing how low I sat back then...
I wish I had some pictures from the performances - The band was on stage, so we were all dressed up in black suits, white shirts, and full makeup.

Those Black Widow rugs would never work for me. My bass drum comes off the pedal even when the velcro holds the pedal in place.
    "Why is that mirror sneezing?"

"Ah, look, it's just an old, creaky mirror, y'know, sometimes it sounds a little like it's sneezing, or coughing, or talking softly."

Yeah. I found out the hard way during a gig. Got myself one of those industrial rugs. Works way better.
