And some parts that I have at home:

I bet that snare sounds great. The 3mm hoops are solid like DW True Hoops. That's a Pearl SR-900 throw off, which is a very nice quality. With good heads and wires, I bet it sounds sweet! How did you add your initials?

Great project. Did you use stickers for the initials ?? Looks sweet. Love the hoops too.

It’s always cool when things turn out nicely. The 3mm hoops should keep things in tune with the 8 lug drum. I only have one snare with 3mm hoops and they are beefy. I find them very close to die cast which in my opinion is a nice feature.

Played with it for the first time this morning. It's only 8 lugs with Vision hardware so considered cheap... But sound REALLY good! Extremely happy with the result!

    Big shell + 3mm hoops = HEAVY!

I have a SR-017 strainner too and the SR-900 look, feel and work way bettre than the SR-017.

Yes simple stickers, but they don't look to want to stick very well to the shell...

Less than 350$ canadian pesos... If I had to buy the lugs and the strainer, I would have been better to buy a new Sensitone!

Nice project snare. Looks like it just rolled off the factory floor.

A while back I purchased some 3.0 mm rims from Drum Factory Direct. I really like them. Just like die cast! I put them on a steel sensitone snare.

I bought a steel sensitone about 2 months ago and love the way it sounds. Is it better to put 3.0 mm rims on it? or?

Am I the only one who finds that 8 lugs fit better in the snare basket than 10 lugs?

Nope, same here, at least with my particular Tama snare stand. That's why I'm totally happy with my 8 lug 13/7 SLP g-maple.

With a 10 lug snare and my particular snare stand, I always wind up with a lug at the bottom left snare basket arm,
and the butt end at the right side arm.
