Default So I went shopping today....

I've been without a drum kit since about 2011 when my band broke up, everything got too hard and I sold my kits (a MCX Masters and early 90's Export). However the itch never went away and over the past few months its gotten stronger, to the point where I've been looking for another kit.

I didn't want to spend a fortune but didn't want a rubbish kit either, I would have just sold it quickly or not enjoyed playing again. I looked at a few second hand Session and Master's kits but the sellers wanted too much for them all, just ridiculous money. So I looked into what was available new and after looking at the new Exports, I decided a better investment was a Decade kit.

Colour choice came down to the Solid Yellow or Deep Red Burst and I decided on the DRB. Sizes are 22x18, 10x7, 12x8, 16x16 and 14x5.5, but I'll just use the 12" and 16" toms, the 10" probably won't come out of the box. I also bought a Paiste PST8 cymbal pack with hats, 2 crashes and a ride.

I haven't played them yet, still setting them up and waiting on my 930 series throne (which the store has ordered in). But first impressions on the quality is that they're stunning drums, really nicely finished off. My only criticism would be that it would have been nice if the BD hoops were finished off on this coloured kit like they are on the Solid Yellow.

    Here's my old Masters kit:

Awesome man! Please let us know what you think of them once setup.

I'm trying to talk my wife into letting me order a DMP set in faded glory.

Nice choice on the color, that finish looks good. A good kit without blowing the bank.
