    Some years ago, ntime ordered some component smx drums a little while after they had been discontinued. When he received them, the drums had a really bad “pungent” smell. If I remember right, Pearl hooked him up with an mcx at no additional charge.

    the ''scent'' is ,most of the time, the wood's sap, which ,sometimes,is concentrated in a specific part of the lumber . it eventually evaporate from the surface of the materiel and leaves a sticking residue ,then the wood may smell like vomit for a certain period lol.

    depending the
    wood essence ,some hard wood ''juice''' smells very bad in contact with the ambiant air.
